Fortifying Memories of the Flu: am locked in my bedroom by choice right now. You might think me strange for writing what I am about to write, but here it is anyway. I remember with strange fondness the simple illnesses of my childhood. I truly do. More so today than ever before I think. I’ve been reminiscing over all of them today, the sniffles, colds, 24-hour bugs and flus. I remember the relative luxuries associated with being sick at home and cared for by my Mother and Father. I would lay in bed, surrounded by blankets and heating pads, the glow of the portable black and white TV to keep me company, a large cup of 7up with a curly straw firmly in hand....Read the rest in our column written by mom of four Brenda: Motherisms!
