| This painting is titled "El Portal" and is now at St. Mary's College. It is thought that the YVRR had the picture painted for advertisement of the railroad. The picture depicts a train in the Merced Canyon next to the river that the railroad follows for about sixty miles. The water fall across the river from El Portal is Chinquapin Fall. |
