The first Yosemite Valley roundhouse. It burned and its replacement was about the same size. The original was built out of wood, the second was metal.

The Harvey House at Merced. It was on the North West side of "K" at the A.T.& S.F. tracks, 24th Street. The Y.V. R.R. had tracks to that point and was a transfer point from the Santa Fe to the Y.V. Between transfers passengers could have a meal at the Harvey House. It closed as an eating house for the final time in 1929.

The second A.T.& S.F. Depot in Merced. The original Santa Fe depot was built by and for the San Francisco & San Joaquin Railroad. Note the small park at the right, the palm trees were a signature of the Santa Fe west coast operations. Passengers could rest in this park while waiting for trains or transfers to the Yosemite Valley Railroad. This depot was used by Amtrak for several years. At the present time (1999) this depot is being replaced with a new one. The park was paved over after the Santa Fe got out passenger business.
